Two distinct dance traditions—the popular dance theater of India and western contemporary dance—meet in a cultural encounter that negotiates two perspectives of performance. Mordine & Company Dance Theater and Natya Dance Theatre, two of Chicago's most innovative companies, collaborate in a trilogy of works co-created by leading choreographers Shirley Mordine and Hema Rajagopalan. Each company will also perform work from their own repertoires that juxtapose rhythm, gesture, and high-energy dance in reflections on culture, gender, philosophy, and family.

Thanks for a Great NEXT Concert!

"I Haven't Gone There is a magical performance experience…
a vivid and captivating journey to a dusty Italian countryside via infrequently-traveled thoroughfares of the imagination…Fillini-esque, with a touch of Dick Van Dyke…"
—Teresa Pankratz, Audience Member

Many thanks to all of you who attended Mordine & Co.'s NEXT concert May 7-9 at Epiphany Church. The Company was thrilled to work with collaborators Bryan Saner and Mark Messing and live musicians from Mucca Pazza for the premiere of I Haven't Gone There.
